Ghent, Belgium – In the framework of the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform initiative, a follow-up meeting of the Peer Review on economic diversification in the health sector took place in the city of Szombathely. The meeting was attended by experts and representatives from different organisations and regions, who exchanged experiences and discussed the progress made since the review carried out in 2021.
The meeting was moderated by the Policy Learning Platform team, composed of thematic experts Marc Pattinson and Arnault Morisson. The session started with welcoming remarks and an update on policy implementation, followed by a reminder of the 2021 online review. Balázs Barta, Managing Director of Pannon Business Network in Szombathely, Hungary, presented the current state of health rehabilitation in the city. The presentation gave an overview of the progress made and the challenges encountered so far.
In the second part of the meeting, an exchange of ideas took place in which participants discussed the new challenges and opportunities experienced by the beneficiary organisation since the launch of its new strategy. The experts were invited to share concrete examples and suggestions from their regions and organisations in relation to the questions, challenges and suggestions raised by the hosts.
The meeting concluded with an open collaboration and brainstorming session among all participants, where possible future opportunities for cooperation to generate impact and deliver tangible policy results were explored.
The meeting was attended by a variety of participants, including Alberto Baldi, independent consultant; Laura Corcuera, General Director of the Navarra Health Cluster; Jan Nylander, CEO of Glasir AB in the Stockholm region; and representatives from the city of Szombathely, such as Adrienn Bokányi, City Councillor; and Balázs Barta, Managing Director of Pannon Business Network.
The follow-up meeting of the Peer Review on economic diversification in the health sector in the city of Szombathely was a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, as well as to foster collaboration and the search for innovative solutions in the field of health policy.
