Medibiofarma is a clinical-stage biotechnology company founded in 2016 by a group of professionals with extensive experience in new drug discovery and the pharmaceutical industry.
Our goal is to generate innovative and high quality research programs based on the modulation of clinically validated therapeutic targets for the treatment of diseases of high medical need.
We are currently developing 3 research programs in which we have selected three candidates that are in the clinical phase:
- MBF-118: Potent and selective covalent partial agonist of the nuclear PPARγ receptor as a potential therapy for fibrosis in Crohn’s disease.
- MBF-015: Novel and selective histone deacetylase 1/2 inhibitor as a potential synaptic loss modifying therapy in neurodegenerative diseases.
- MBF-362: Prostaglandin E2 receptor EP4 antagonist as a novel immunotherapy for cancer treatment.
MEDIBIOFARMA is based in the European Business and Innovation Center (CEIN) in Noáin, Navarra, where it shares a 200 m2 laboratory and performs the tasks of direction, management and medicinal chemistry. All other activities, such as preclinical studies, pharmaceutical development and Phase I and Phase IIa clinical trials, are carried out through a wide network of collaborators.
It currently has a staff of ten highly qualified technical personnel, 50 % of whom are women.
