The entity’s General Assembly, held this Friday, revealed that the number of member organizations in the last fiscal year was 54. Their combined turnover exceeded €2.65 billion, they employed 18,600 people, and jointly invested more than €120 million in R&D. The cluster, for its part, offered them tailored services such as training workshops and new networking opportunities, among others, in which more than 500 people participated.
Navarra Health Cluster, the association that brings together companies and entities linked to the health sector in the region, closed the last fiscal year with 54 member entities — a 20% increase compared to 2023. This was announced by its representatives during the General Assembly held this Friday at the Jerónimo de Ayanz Building of the Public University of Navarre (UPNA).
The meeting also highlighted that the companies, knowledge centers, professional associations, and healthcare centers that make up NHC reached a combined turnover of over €2.65 billion, which represents 11% of Navarre’s GDP, and employed 18,600 people.
Faced with these figures, the president of Navarra Health Cluster, Alicia López de Ocáriz, emphasized the importance of the sector for the region. “The cluster’s growth over the past two years confirms the strategic role of the health sector in Navarre,” she stated. She also pointed out that the consolidation of its network of companies and member entities not only strengthens the competitiveness of the healthcare ecosystem, “but also makes a decisive contribution to job creation, innovation, and economic development in the region.” “Furthermore, the commitment to R&D investment, the boost to training, and internationalization are key to continuing progress in a sector that drives transformation and well-being for society,” she added.
During the General Assembly, it was also highlighted that in 2024, cluster companies allocated over 120 million euros to R&D, reinforcing their strong commitment to innovation. Likewise, the range of services offered by the organization was emphasized, with more than 40 initiatives including training workshops, internationalization consulting, communication support, and new networking opportunities. As a result, over 550 professionals took part in these activities throughout the year.
For 2025, Navarra Health Cluster aims to continue growing in the number of members and develop valuable services and actions. Among these are the proposal of a working group on health data and digital health, boosting international presence at key fairs and conferences, and enhancing knowledge in regulatory affairs and the healthcare product and technology market.
TECHNOLOGICAL SHOWROOM
Before the General Assembly, attendees visited the companies housed in the Jerónimo de Ayanz Building and explored the latest technologies applied to health in a showroom specifically organized for the occasion. The goal was to showcase recent advancements and their impact on the sector.
The event concluded with the conference “Why did Google win the Nobel Prize in Chemistry?” delivered by the members of the podcast “La TERTULia de la Inteligencia Artificial,” Paco Zamora, Íñigo Olcoz, and Guillermo Barbadillo, who analyzed the impact of AI in the scientific and healthcare fields.
