The Navarra Health Cluster, the grouping of companies and entities in the health sector in Navarra, has held the first working session to analyse the impact that the European Health Data Space will have in the region within a more complete analysis that will focus on the EU Health Union.
The working meeting was attended by 18 participants from 9 entities associated to the NHC as well as public entities: UPNA, TAIREL DATA, NASERTIC, DARWIN BIOMEDICAL, HEMOTIC, Subdirección de Sistemas y Tecnologías para la Salud de Gobierno de Navarra, CEIN, Hospital Universitario de Navarra, IDISNA, NAVARRABIOMED y la Clínica Universitaria de Navarra. The session was chaired by Laura Corcuera, Managing Director of Navarra Health Cluster, with the support of Zabala Innovation.
After presenting the keys to the New European Data Space, representatives of companies and organisations analysed the implications and opportunities that the implementation of the European Health Data Space in Navarra will bring with it. Key aspects were discussed, such as data interoperability, privacy and information security, as well as the potential impact on medical research and the improvement of patient care.
The creation of a European health data space will enable the secure and controlled exchange of health information between countries and organisations, facilitating collaborative research and the development of innovative health solutions. This will open up new possibilities for the health sector in Navarra, boosting collaboration between companies, research institutions and healthcare providers.
The Navarra Health Cluster is positioning itself as a key player in this analysis, bringing together different actors in the sector to assess the specific impact on the region and develop strategies to make the most of the opportunities offered by the European Health Data Space.
These working sessions are expected to continue in the coming weeks addressing other priorities of the EU Health Union, involving a larger number of stakeholders of the health sector in Navarra and deepening the technical, legal and organisational aspects.
The analysis carried out by the Navarra Health Cluster will be fundamental to define and contribute to Navarra’s roadmap within the framework of the European Health Union and to guarantee an active and beneficial participation in this important European health cooperation project.
