Navarra Health Cluster (NHC) and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) signed an agreement to collaborate in RD and awareness projects in the fight against cancer. An essential work to raise awareness of this disease that in 2024 has become for the first time the leading cause of death in Spain.
Navarra Health Cluster, the largest health and biosciences alliance in Navarre, and the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Navarre have signed a framework collaboration agreement to promote joint actions related to the fight against cancer and to support patients suffering from this disease. The agreement was signed at the Navarra Health Cluster headquarters by Alicia López de Ocáriz, president of NHC, and Juan Franco, president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Navarre.
The main objective of this agreement is to mutually collaborate by sharing knowledge, tools and other resources in order to find synergies that lead to the design of projects, solutions and services aligned with the objectives and goals of both entities.
With this agreement, with an initial term of three years, NHC and AECC agree to work in the following areas of collaboration:
- To collaborate actively and jointly in RDI projects. To this end, they will compete, whenever possible, in grant and subsidy programs.
- Share valuable information on the needs and trends of the healthcare industry related to cancer disease.
- Jointly organize events, acts and activities, public or private, leading to the dissemination and disclosure of the work of both entities, advances, trends or needs of their respective fields of action.
- To contribute to improve the culture and scientific-technological knowledge of society.
Alicia López de Ocariz emphasized that “this signature, which allows us to create a collaboration framework with one of the most relevant, active and innovative patient associations in Spain, is a strategic step for our cluster. Putting patients at the center and creating spaces for dialogue and action as key members of the value chain is essential, and we are determined to create new positive synergies at all levels, from basic research to innovation and public health.”
Juan Franco welcomes this agreement, which “allows the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Navarre and Navarra Health Cluster to reaffirm their commitment to the development of innovative solutions in the field of health, and to work together to bring value to society through research, innovation and dissemination”.
