Navarra Health Cluster organized on April 23rd, together with Euro-Funding, the workshop “Success strategies with the EIC Accelerator instrument for biomedical developments”, in collaboration with the European Business and Innovation Center of Navarra (CEIN) and Innovation Factory, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Navarra. The objective of this event was to deepen the understanding of this highly competitive, non-dilutive European funding program that focuses on innovations based on scientific discoveries or breakthrough technologies.
This new consulting opportunity has generated interest in our ecosystem and was attended by 19 people (out of 26 registered) belonging to 9 partner entities and 4 external to NHC.
EIC Accelerator finances the last phases of a development from a TRL6-7 to market, allowing the definition of the business model to turn the development into a market-ready product, service or process aligned with the company’s growth strategy. Through financing, the program also supports innovative SMEs in attracting the private capital needed for the company’s scaling-up phase.

The presentation, which included the participation of Óscar Salazar Managing Director of Euro-Funding EU Projects SL, focused on presenting the requirements to be competitive in the EIC Accelerator, the mechanisms of the call, examining the different business models, and how to approach a business plan in order to attract funding from the EIC Accelerator program for companies in the biotechnology, biomedical, e-health and medical devices sectors. In addition, at the end of the event, 4 entities were able to have a personalized interview to discuss their business model with the speaker.
