Agenor Mantenimientos, a member of the Navarra Health Cluster, is a family-owned company from Navarre that has become one of the leading references in the field of electromedicine. Its CEO, José Ángel Rodríguez Arregui, took part on 28 March in the event organised by the Spanish Society of Electromedicine and Clinical Engineering (SEEIC), focused on the future of healthcare technology. In this interview, he shares his vision of the changes shaping the sector and the challenges of leading its transformation from a technical, ethical, and human perspective.

Could you introduce Agenor Mantenimientos and explain what the company does?

Agenor Mantenimientos is a company specialised in the comprehensive management and maintenance of medical equipment.

We started our activity in 1996, alongside my wife, Dolores Garijo, after years of experience in the sector, both in healthcare centres and collaborating with multinational companies such as General Electric and the Eulen Group.

We started as a small team, and in 2001, we took the leap to work directly with our first healthcare centre client. Since then, we have consolidated our presence across the entire national territory and developed projects internationally, with experiences in countries such as France and Angola.

Currently, 75% of our activities are in the public sector, while 25% are in the private sector. Our technical team works directly integrated into healthcare centres, handling the entire lifecycle management of medical equipment, from inventories to corrective, preventive, and technical-legal maintenance, all while adhering to the highest quality standards (UNE ISO 13485, 45001, 50001, 14001, 9001). Additionally, we ensure information security through UNE ISO 27001 and ENS certifications.

We have a database that exceeds 300,000 inventoried devices, which allows us to offer highly specialized advice on technological investment plans. Above all, what defines our work is a close, rigorous, and human approach, always serving efficient, safe, and modern healthcare. This is our core purpose.

What would you say sets your company apart in the healthcare sector and makes a difference for your clients?

What really sets us apart is the people who are part of Agenor. We are a technical company, yes, but we also have a broad market vision and solid experience in electromedicine. Our team consists of 280 professionals who stand out for their initiative, technical skills, creativity, and commitment, but above all, for their deep sense of ethics, a key value when working in the healthcare sector.

Our capacity for innovation goes beyond technology: we also develop new services. We are recognized for the trust we generate, our closeness to our clients, and our values. We advocate for healthcare that combines technology and organization, never losing sight of the human component.

Our headquarters is in Tudela, and we have a network spread across the country. This reach allows us to offer agile, high-quality service with a strong local focus, something that our clients particularly appreciate.

In short, we combine technical excellence and human commitment. This balance is what makes us different.

At the event organized by SEEIC in Pamplona on March 28, you participated in the roundtable discussion on the future of the workforce in the field of electromedicine and clinical engineering. What is your vision for the future of the sector and the prospects for Agenor?

My vision is positive.

During the pandemic, electromedicine gained unprecedented visibility. Equipment, services, and professionals proved to be essential for the proper functioning of the healthcare system. At Agenor, we stood alongside healthcare professionals, responding quickly and effectively, which highlighted the strategic role of our work.

Our commitment is to continue growing in a sustainable and purposeful way. Recently, we expanded our facilities in Tudela, adding new warehouses that will allow us to improve the efficiency of technical support to manufacturers.

Every step we take is in line with our identity: a family-owned company with solid values and a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility through the SG21 model.

Looking ahead, we aim to continue collaborating with all stakeholders in the sector, develop new products and services, enhance the continuous training of our team, and increase both hiring and our participation in public tenders.

The sector is undergoing a deep transformation. Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, automation, and connectivity are no longer future trends, but a reality. However, the real challenge still lies with people: we need to generate knowledge and develop talent capable of leading this technological evolution without losing sight of what is essential, which is humanizing the technology applied to healthcare.
