Science, technology and their application to clinical and care practice took centre stage at the “Health of the Future: Innovation and Technologies Transforming Navarre” conference. The event also provided an opportunity to showcase the potential of Navarre’s biosanitary ecosystem through a showroom in which numerous organisations associated with Navarra Health Cluster took part.
Technology transfer: key to accelerating health innovation
More than 150 people attended the “Health of the Future: Innovation and Technologies Transforming Navarre” conference, organised by the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) and the Institute of Smart Cities (ISC), in collaboration with CEIN and Navarra Health Cluster (NHC). The event brought together companies, research centres, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and students to address the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of health technologies in Navarre.
From Navarra Health Cluster, Managing Director Laura Corcuera took part in one of the round tables dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and technology transfer in health. In her contribution, she highlighted the importance of strengthening the mechanisms that allow knowledge generated in universities, technology centres and research groups to be transferred to the market and clinical practice, thereby facilitating the delivery of innovative new solutions to patients and healthcare professionals.
She also underscored the role of Living Labs as real-world experimentation and validation environments, capable of bringing innovation closer to the needs of users and professionals, and facilitating the development of technologies with greater impact and adoption potential.
A showcase of Navarre’s technological capabilities
The conference brought together some of the key players in Navarre’s biosanitary ecosystem associated with Navarra Health Cluster, including research centres, care organisations such as ADACEN, and academic institutions — among them Cima, the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, the Navarre Health Research Institute (IdiSNA), NAIR Center, NASERTIC, Navarrabiomed and the University of Navarre.
Alongside them, the technology showroom highlighted the innovative potential of Navarre’s business fabric and brought the latest biomedical advances to a university setting, with the participation of companies including Creo Medical, DARWIN Biomed, EVERSENS, InsAIght, NNBi, Opportunity Health, TedCas, Vitio and Ysium Medical, which presented their latest solutions and technological developments aimed at improving healthcare and people’s health.
This space offered the public a window into the technological potential that exists in Navarre and gave visibility to the solutions already being developed in the region to address current and future challenges in healthcare. It also facilitated interaction between companies, research groups and other ecosystem stakeholders, encouraging knowledge exchange, technology transfer and the generation of new collaboration opportunities.
The conference once again demonstrated the strength and diversity of Navarre’s biosanitary ecosystem, as well as the key role of collaboration between companies, knowledge centres, support organisations and professionals in accelerating innovation and turning technological advances into solutions with real impact on people’s health.
